Singling SC, Gangtok Himalayan SC set for Women’s League final

GANGTOK,: Singling SC and Gangtok Himalayan SC will clash in the final of the Senior Women’s Football League 2026 on March 8 at Paljor Stadium.

In Friday’s first semi-final, Singling SC secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Milan More FA (Siliguri), thanks to a brace from Simran Gurung and a goal from Kiran Pisda. Both forwards have been in excellent goal-scoring form throughout the league.

Despite the 3-0 scoreline, Milan More FA kept the match tight until the final minutes and gave a courageous performance against Singling SC, who had beaten them 7-0 earlier in the league. Simran Gurung scored two quick goals in the closing moments, giving Singling SC a more flattering margin of victory.

Laxmi Tamang was named Player of the Match and received the award from chairman Phurba Rinzing Sherpa, the chief guest of the match.

Singling SC enters the final undefeated, having won all five of their league games, scoring at least four goals in each and conceding only one goal so far.

In the second semi-final of the day, Gangtok Himalayan SC edged past Chujachen SA 1-0. Signoria Thapa scored the decisive goal to book a spot in the final against Singling SC. Teammate Devi Subba was named Player of the Match.

Chief guest Prince Palden Gyurmed Namgyal and guest of honour Princess Hope Leezum, along with SFA president Menla Ethenpa and other officials, greeted the players of Gangtok Himalayan SC and Chujachen SA before kickoff.

Both Gangtok Himalayan SC and Chujachen SA had earned their semifinal berths with 10 points each from five league games. Their league encounter ended in a goalless draw.

The league is organised by the Sikkim Football Association, with Generali Central Insurance Company as the title sponsor.
