SKM 14TH FOUNDATION DAY TODAY

‘Team Sikkim’ key to vision of Sunaulo, Samriddha Sikkim: Golay

GANGTOK,: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, also the SKM president, has extended his heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Sikkim, and to all friends, supporters, and well-wishers on the occasion of 14th SKM foundation day.

In his message, the Chief Minister recorded that the 14th SKM foundation day renews the party’s collective hope, strengthens resolve, and opens fresh avenues to serve the people with greater dedication, sincerity, and responsibility. It reaffirms our shared commitment to the ideals and values that form the very core foundation of our party and our governance, he said.

“Our government and the party remain firmly committed to the principles of compassionate, transparent, and people-centric governance. Every policy, programme, and initiative undertaken by us is guided by a singular and unwavering vision, i.e. ‘the welfare, dignity, and holistic development of every citizen of Sikkim’,” said the Chief Minister.

Golay reiterated that health and education continue to be the SKM government’s foremost priorities, as they are the bedrock of a strong, enlightened, and progressive society. We shall persist in strengthening healthcare services, extending health support to patients, empowering students, supporting unemployed youth, encouraging entrepreneurship and employment generation, and ensuring sustained assistance to the poor, the needy, hapless, and the downtrodden, he said.

Our focused efforts in tourism development have created sustainable livelihoods besides safeguarding Sikkim’s pristine environment, rich cultural legacy, and profound spiritual heritage, said the Chief Minister.

“We stand by our promises and strongly reaffirm our commitment to inclusive, welfare-oriented, and philanthropic initiatives that touch, transform, and uplift people across our communities. With utmost humility and gratitude, we uphold our age-old values of hospitality, harmony, and mutual respect, while remaining committed to preserving our culture, traditions, and spiritual diversity, and fostering unity and understanding among all sections of society.”

Golay maintained that the collective aspiration is to build a ‘Sunaulo, Samriddha, and Samartha Sikkim ’- a Golden, Prosperous, and Capable Sikkim that is resilient, self-reliant, compassionate, sustainable, and forward-looking.

“Our greatest strength lies in our togetherness. As proud members of Team Sikkim, let us walk hand in hand, uplifting our fellow citizens, standing firmly with the marginalised, and extending support to the needy with empathy, compassion, and solidarity.”

The SKM president recorded his deep appreciation to the founder members of the party, whose vision, dedication, and sacrifices have laid the foundation for the road map upon which SKM party stands today. “The tireless efforts of our karyakartas, volunteers, and party members are really invaluable; they are indeed the real pillars and driving force of our party. Their untiring commitment and selfless service continue to inspire and strengthen us each and every day,” he said.

He also extended a warm and heartiest welcome to all the respected newly joined members who have placed their trust and faith in the ideals and vision of the SKM party.

“Your thoughtful decision to join our party adds renewed strength, energy, and purpose to our collective mission. We are honoured to have you all as part of our SKM family and look forward to your active participation in shaping a brighter future for Sikkim,” said Golay.

The Chief Minister also sincerely thanked the well-wishers, esteemed and distinguished post-holders, party functionaries, committee members, various organisations, and every individual who has selflessly contributed by sparing their precious time, often setting aside personal and professional commitments, for the greater cause of the party and the people. And therefore, it is my sincere hope that you will welcome the people who have joined our party with open arms and benevolence, he added.

The Chief Minister further recorded his sincere appreciation and gratitude for all government officers and employees, whose dedication, professionalism, and selfless service form the backbone of effective governance. Their tireless efforts have been instrumental in extending meaningful support to the poor and marginalised and in advancing the overall development and progress of our State, he said.

Golay appealed all to build such a Sikkim where there is no hatred or animosity, where peace and harmony prevail, where there is warmth and compassion, where even the poorest of the poor receive justice, where everyone attains happiness, peace, and prosperity, and where earning a livelihood is made easier for all.

“Let us renew our pledge to serve with integrity, courage, and compassion, upholding mutual respect and extending support to one another at every step of the way. Let no challenge deter us and no hardship weaken our resolve.

United by purpose, strengthened by trust, and guided by the spirit of unity, we shall continue to march forward with determination, transforming every vision into action and every dream into reality.”

“Together, as one SKM family and as Team Sikkim, our unity shall remain our greatest strength as we build a future that is brighter, stronger, and more inclusive, leaving behind a lasting legacy of selfless service, progress, and hope for generations to come. On this 14th Foundation Day, may our party continue to rise in unity and service, ever dedicated to the welfare of the people of Sikkim,” said Golay.
