SKM to celebrate 14th foundation day with ‘Jan Andolan Dekhin Jan Sarkar’ theme

GANGTOK, : Chief Minister PS Golay, also the SKM president, on Monday chaired the 2nd preparatory meeting for the upcoming 14th foundation day of the SKM here at Manan Kendra.

The SKM is celebrating its 14th foundation day on February 4 at Rangpo.

This year’s foundation day celebration will be held under the theme “Jan Andolan Dekhin Jan Sarkar” and is expected to witness large-scale public participation, reflecting the strong bond between the party and the people, shared the Chief Minister on his social media page.

The preparatory meeting focused on detailed discussions and the assignment of responsibilities to various individuals and party organizations in preparation for the upcoming celebration, which will be observed in a grand and befitting manner, mentioned the Chief Minister.

During the meeting, I directed and urged all members to work collectively and with dedication to ensure the grand success of the event, emphasizing that our commitment to the party and its ideals is the very purpose of our collective journey, informed the Chief Minister.

Golay highlighted that since the inception of the SKM and after forming the government, the party has consistently adopted pro-people policies and initiatives, working tirelessly for the welfare and development of the State.

He also announced that a five-day party convention will be organized in the near future to further strengthen the organization and reinforce our commitment to the people.

The meeting was attended by SKM senior functionaries, ministers, MLAs, representatives from frontal organisations, and district and constituency-level committees.

In his address, SKM general secretary Arun Upreti gave a detailed presentation on the preparations made so far for the 14th SKM foundation day celebrations.
