RANGPO,: A significant meeting to address pressing issues concerning Pakyong Bazaar was chaired by Zilla Upadhyaksha Prabha Pradhan today. It was attended by Pakyong district officials and stakeholders.
The meeting focused on critical matters such as bazaar beautification, sanitation, parking management, the ongoing works by NHIDCL, and concerns about unregulated influx in the area.
At the outset, Bazaar Officer Nawraj Lamsal presented the main agenda, highlighting the need for enhanced infrastructure and management at Pakyong Bazaar. Following this, key suggestions and opinions were offered by SDM Pakyong Thendup Lepcha, panchayat president Sarita Bhusal, and second SHO Shobit Chhetri, which set the tone for a productive discussion.
An interactive session allowed traders, hawkers, and residents of Pakyong Bazaar to voice their opinions and share feedback on the proposed initiatives. The discussion underscored the importance of collective efforts to improve the marketplace’s appearance and functionality.
In her concluding address, Zilla Upadhyaksha Prabha Pradhan emphasized various measures to enhance the aesthetic and functional appeal of Pakyong Bazaar. She proposed installing flower pots, a music system, and CCTV cameras to create a peaceful and secure environment. Additionally, she stressed the importance of proper identification for labourers, recommending strict enforcement of ID card issuance by the concerned authorities, with penalties for non-compliance.
Pradhan also suggested recognizing individuals who have shown outstanding dedication to maintaining the bazaar’s cleanliness, proposing felicitation during Independence Day celebrations. She assured continuous support for all official matters related to the betterment of Pakyong Bazaar.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Bazaar Inspector J.N. Adhikari, who appreciated the contributions of all participants and reaffirmed commitment to achieving the discussed objectives.
