GANGTOK, (IPR): The Star Mall at New Market, MG Marg was officially unsealed today.
The unsealing
was carried out by Mahendra Chettri, SDM Gangtok, in the presence of DB Gurung,
ASI Sadar Thana, Loday Lepcha, SI Sadar Thana, Jeewan Tamang, deputy director
Urban Development department, and SAP personnel along with the construction
company representatives.
The mall had
been sealed due to violations of the Sikkim Allotment of House Sites and
Construction of Building (Regulation and Control) Act, 1985. Following a
comprehensive review led by the Urban Development Department, it was determined
that the construction company had successfully complied with all regulatory
requirements. This includes adherence to the Sikkim Building Construction
Regulations (SBCR), 1991, as well as other statutory guidelines issued by the
department.
With compliance
achieved, the decision was made to lift the sealing order, allowing the
construction of the multi-layer car parking and commercial complex to proceed
as per the approved standards and norms.
