Teacher murdered, found buried in his own house courtyard

GANGTOK,: A gruesome murder has been reported from Upper Singhik near Mangan town where a 56-year-old teacher was brutally hacked to death and then buried in the courtyard of his house.

The victim, Passang Tinku Lepcha, was incommunicado with his family members since November 19. He was working as a teacher in Mangan senior secondary school.

His son came from Gangtok to Upper Singhik on November 22 to locate his father who was not found in the residence. Later, the son saw the toes of a human body buried with mud and plants in the courtyard and reported the matter to Mangan police.

Police recovered the body which was identified as the missing person by his son. The deceased had multiple cut injuries inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon. Blood stains were also found on the bed, shoe rack and walls of the bedroom.

After registering a murder case, Mangan police have taken up active investigations.
