Three medals for Sikkim in East Zonejunior athletics c’ship

GANGTOK, : Three Sikkim athletes won medals in the 36th East Zone Junior Athletics Championships 2025which concluded today in Ranchi.

Phurba Hishey Sherpa won a gold medal in Under-18 boys’ 1000m, Priya Chettri won silver in U-18 girls’ 1000m and Rewa Bareily won bronze in U-18 girls’ heptathlon.

Sikkim Athletic Association, in a press release, congratulated the medallists, and thanked the Sikkim team manager, coaches and all members for their support. “Sikkim Athletic Association would also like to thank the Chief Minister for his continuous support and the department of Sports and Youth Affairs for their guidance,” the association said.
