Various competitions listed for National Youth Festival 2025

NAMCHI, (IPR): Sports and Youth Affairs department in collaboration with Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Sports Training Centre (STC) held a press conference on National Youth Festival 2025 with the theme "Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025, Empowering Youth To Lead" at Bhaichung Stadium, Namchi today.

Addressing the press conference, Basant Pradhan, deputy director, Sports and Youth Affairs department informed that the National Youth Festival will be celebrated on 11 and 12 January 2025 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. To celebrate the occasion, he stated that a series of competitions will be conducted at the district and State levels during the second week of this December, and the winning participants shall represent the State to the national level competition on 11 and 12 January 2025 in New Delhi.

Sourav Barman, NYK District Youth Officer, talked about the competition which will be conducted in three components, namely ,thematic competition which includes Science Mela Group Competition and Science Mela Solo Competition, the culture component, which includes group folk dance, group folk song, solo folk dance, solo folk song and the life skill component, which includes poetry, story writing, painting, declamation and mobile photography, all this activities will be carried out at the district and state level.

Rupen Pradhan, SAI STC in-charge, discussed about "My Bharat Portal" that is being launched by the Government of India for the convience of the youths. The participants who are over the age group of 15 and below 29, can only register through www.mybharat.gov.in to participate in the competitions which will be available from 25 November to 5 December 2024.

Sandhya Gurung, Chief Coach Boxing (Dronacharya Awardee), apprised the dates for the both districts and State level competition. The district-level events are set to take place from 25 to 30 November and for State-level events are to be scheduled for 5 and 6 December,. Further, she also urged the youths to take the optimum benefit of this opportunity and participate enthusiastically in the said events.
