Thank you for accepting our invitation and hope you will visit Sikkim soon for a similar interactive session with the teachers of Sikkim,” said the CM.

Golay stated, “The SKM government believes in the human resource development and education sector unlike the previous SDF government who were interested in building dams and keeping the youth as a bonsai plant, a show piece.”

The Chief Minister thanked the Voice for organising the convention and the other resource persons for their motivating speeches. He also thanked the students for attending both days till the end of the sessions.

He further highlighted the initiatives of the State government towards human resource development. On Sikkim flash flood aftermath, Golay said the State government is working on rehabilitation and reconstruction of houses lost and damaged by the flash flood. He urged the government employees who do not celebrate Dasain to voluntarily work for rehabilitation of the flood affected victims. He informed that the Chief Minister’s office would be open during the Dasain festival.

“The Janta Yojana Policy has been passed today, where a colony will be formed for those affected and can stay free of cost for three years. Essential items will be provided to them. Students who couldn’t get their books, stationary and uniform from the flood affected areas, cash incentives will be provided to them,” he said.

The keynote address for the second day was delivered by Khan Sir. Other speakers for the day were Education ACS R. Telang, Gangtok SP Tenzing Loden Lepcha and Voice chief coordinator Sanjay Rai.
