Bhutan basketball team blends music with performance

Teymola- meaning to love in the present, a group from Bhutan is in Sikkimto participate in the on-going State openbasketball tournament here at Paljor Stadium.  This is their second visitwith the message ‘zero tolerance to rape and child abuse.’
“We are not just here to play basketball this time but we also have with us few performers from our country both renowned and budding talents who will be performing at Hotel 100 Petals on Friday”, informed Teymola who is a basketball player and head of the group.
“Our senior team could not make it this time, therefore I am here with young players who are equally talented and will represent our country in future,” he said.
He further added that he believes in engaging youths into sports and music to divert their minds from other ill activities in the society that is growing rapidly.
Kinley Wangchuk, an artist, informed that he met the remaining young artists few days back and looking at their talent, he along with Teymola decided to bring them to Sikkim and perform.
“We are here to perform and motivate these young talents. We want to deliver our message through our music, therefore we would want everyone to come and be a part of this jam session”, he added.
