Governor completes North Sikkim tour, assures to deal with all public grievances

MANGAN (IPR): Governor Ganga Prasad today held an interactive session with the district officials at Zilla Bhawan, Mangan.
Earlier in the day, the Governor also conducted a small interactive session with the business community of Mangan. The business community warmly welcomed the Governor and presented the brief status of their current business environment in the district.
The Governor while addressing the business community stated that the community should work for the improvement of the State and ensure that the peaceful environment is protected and preserved. He stated that he is always approachable for resolution of any issues.
During the interactive meeting with the officials, the heads of departments in the district gave a brief power point presentation on the schemes and works of their departments. The status of departments such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Education, ICDS, Health, Roads & Bridges, Telecommunications, Power, Rural Development and Border Roads were reviewed by the Governor.
Prasad stated the organic farming was one of the most important contributions of State and he credited Chief Minister Pawan Chamling for making the State organic. He urged all the officials to implement the policy with full vigor and ensure that the farmer get a platform to sell their products in the important metros of the country. He stated that departments should now work on food processing and use the airport of State to supply the organic products to important cities. The focus should now be on development of the villages as per the vision given by the Mahatma Gandhi. All the officers should work dedicatedly for the purpose of making the State and country a developed one by making the villages vibrant and self-reliant.
The three-day North Sikkim tour of Governor has concluded and the Governor expressed his satisfaction and happiness with the tour. He stated the all the grievances of the public would be appropriately dealt by him and will continue to visit and meet the people of the State in the near future.
