CM should withdraw CBI notification if he does not have any benami properties: Delay

GANGTOK:  Sikkim National People’s Party (SNPP) president Delay Namgyal Barfungpa on Tuesday said the party would be hold its public meeting at Singtam on December 7.
“Our party is holding its public meeting at Singtam bazaar on December 7. Functionaries of the party will tell the gathering about the core issues of our party and also the policies and programmes. We are also demanding that the Assembly seats for the Nepali community of Sikkim are re-instated. The Nepali seats were there in past and must be re-instated,” said the SNPP president at a press meet here.
He appealed the people to attend the Singtam meeting and understand the issues and programmes of the SNPP.
Barfungpa also commented on the recent remarks made by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling regarding the alleged benami properties.
Chamling had maintained that he does not have any benami properties and had added that anyone can take away such properties if they find within or outside Sikkim.
“If Chamling is really confident that he does not have any benami properties then he should allow CBI to enter and conduct investigations in Sikkim. Why did he take out a notification in 2010 preventing CBI from entering Sikkim? We demand that the notification is withdrawn by the State government. Why would people go around searching for his properties? It is the job of an investigation agency. Let CBI come and investigate if Chamling does not have any benami properties,” said the SNPP president.
