UDHD minister inaugurates new projects in Rangpo

RANGPO: Urban Development minister N.K. Subba inaugurated several infrastructural projects in Rangpo town today.
The minister first inaugurated the foot over bridge constructed at main market area. The project was built at a cost of Rs.1.59 crore. He also inaugurated the housing complex constructed under the Centre’s BSUP scheme funded by JnNURM at Majhigaon.
Area MLA Gopal Baraily, Rangpo MEO Himmat Rai, nagar panchayat president Maya Cintury and other officials were present on the occasion.
MLA Baraily thanked the State government for the developmental projects in the border town. He informed that the housing complex has 202 flats of which five beneficiaries were handed over the keys of their houses. Other allocations would be done soon, he informed.
The programme also saw the felicitation of contractor U. Narayan Sharma, social worker Milan Silwal and engineers of UDHD.
Addressing the gathering, minister Subba congratulated the residents of Rangpo for the new infrastructures. He asserted that the SDF would win the ensuing Assembly election with full majority and form the government for the sixth consecutive term.
Subba informed that the State government would build 150 housing flats at Majhitar and 350 in capital Gangtok in the future. He mentioned that the notification for regularisation of Kutchha houses would be amended soon.
