Sikkim wins three medals in national taekwondo

Sikkim won a silver medal and two bronze medals in the 35th National Kyorugi and 9th National Sub-Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Championship 2018-2019 held at Hyderabad, Telangana recently.
Lhazayla Lama Tamang bagged the lone silver medal in under-41 kg; Aditi Dhakal and Miksang Limboo won bronze medal in under-32 kg and under-44 kg respectively.
A total of 26 taekwondo players from Sikkim had participated in the championship.
“Unfortunately poomsae team couldn't bring any medals but their performance was outstanding. The kyorugi fighters were successful in bringing three medals home. This time most players were new but their performance was good and Sikkim Amateur Taekwondo Association is satisfied with their performance,” said SATA coach Sanjay Subba.
He also thanked Chief Minister Pawan Chamling for his support to the team.
