Pranisha Lepcha, Bikky Sewa wins NE women’s and men’s physique competition

Bishal Chettri, a gym trainer, won the 19th Mr Sikkim title at Manan Kendra here Saturday evening. Likewise, Siliguri businesswoman Pranisha Lepcha and Bikky Sewa from Majhitar, Rangpo were declared as the first Northeast women's and men’s’ physique competition winners respectively.
The 19th Mr Sikkim and 1st Northeast Men’s & Women’s Physique Championship was organised by Sikkim State Body Building Association (SSBBA), an Indian Body Building & Fitness Federation-affiliated organisation.
The winners were awarded cash prizes along with trophies, medals and certificates. The winners will also be endorsed as brand ambassadors for Suplement House, Siliguri.
Mr Sikkim and winners of Mr Northeast and Miss Northeast physique championship will also get one-year free membership at Gold's Gym.
Janak Sharma from Ranipool and SBI employee Rupendra Mukhia finished first and second runner-up respectively in the Mr Sikkim contest.    
The North East Men’s & Women’s Physique Championship had two height categories, among which the top five finalists were shortlisted.
Pranisha Lepcha and Bikky Sewa were declared ‘champion of champions’ in women’s and men’s category respectively.
2019 Miss India Minu Barman from Islampur and Namchi college student Sakhiya Bokhim Rai finished first and second runner-up respectively in women’s championship.  
The chief guest for the event was social worker T. Lachungpa and the guest of honour was Sikkim Olympic Association president B.K. Roka. The judges for the event were members from SSBBA and Mr Darjeeling Sukra Mani.
The guest poser for the event was Mr Asia runner-up and Mr Darjeeling Rebesh Pradhan. Pradhan along with Sadar Police Stadion SHO Bikash Tewari and journalist Nirmal Mangar was also felicitated on the occasion.
Mr Sikkim championship is organised every year by SSBBA with the aim of providing a platform to local bodybuilders.
“It is an important event because we feel the event will keep them busy and focused towards sports. We also want to encourage our local youth towards body building,” expressed SSBBA president Arun Gurung.
The event was supported by the State Sports department and some like-minded people of the society.
