GANGTOK: Governor Ganga Prasad cast his vote for the Assembly and Parliamentary elections of Sikkim on April 11 at White Hall, Gangtok. Prasad stood in queue with rest of voters to wait for his turn to the ballot box.
The White Hall booth was one of the model polling booths officiated by all-women polling personnel under Gangtok constituency.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote, the Governor said: “Elections is the biggest festival of the country and voting is our right. People should exercise their rights as their 'dayitwa'. I have heard that people of Sikkim are alert and aware about their voting rights and have records of crossing 85% of polling in the past. This proves that Sikkimese voters are concerned about their rights and exercise it with full zeal and enthusiasm".
