DARJEELING:
Police today seized furniture and household items from the houses of two GJM (Bimal Gurung faction) leaders at Bansbotay, Rimbick-Lodhama area, about 60 km away from here. The household items were seized from the houses of Narendra Kambang and Bhakta Kharka, both from Bansbotay.
The two Morcha leaders are presently absconding as several cases are registered against them during the last Gorkhaland agitation period.
“Police came in the morning and stated that they had a court order of seizing our property. They took away the furniture, utensils and other items from our house leaving only the bare necessities,” said Manzil Kharka, the son of absconding Bhakta Kharka.
Bhakta was the president of GJM Rimbick-Lodhama unit-1 during the agitation period.
Manzil mentioned that police had taken away his Madhyamik exam result last May. “They had assured to return the result today but it was not done. Admission to colleges is starting but I will not get admission as I do not have my Madhyamik board exam result. My future will be ruined if I do not get the documents,” he said.
Manzil had given his Higher Secondary exams this year from Arts stream. The results are expected in June first week.
Manzil is living in the house with his mother. His brother and sister are working elsewhere and financially running the house.
