One Family, One Job
Tue, Jun 11, 2019

The ongoing ambiguity surrounding the appointment of temporary employees under the One Family, One Job (OFOJ) scheme of the previous SDF government spiralled into a demonstration by a section of the beneficiaries outside the DoP office at Tashiling secretariat today. They demanded an early solution to their persisting problems.
Days after the new SKM government issued a notification to review the OFOJ appointments in view of some recruitments begin made allegedly during the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), the OFOJ beneficiaries maintained that they had gathered today to seek solution to their problem from the concerned department.
“Today, we have submitted a memorandum to the DoP secretary wherein we have raised concern over the notification issued on May 31, 2019.  Based on the notification we are being asked not to come to office by the authorities concerned with immediate effect. We are the only earning member of the family and many of us have left our previous jobs following a government job under the State government but today we are suffering. Many of the beneficiaries till date have served the department assigned but till date our salaries are not given. Today, we are in great difficulty and demand immediate solution to our persisting problem,” said the employees.
After the demand was submitted, senior officials of the department maintained that a review committee has been proposed to the government with respect to re-verification and re-scrutiny of the beneficiaries under OFOJ. Once the committee is approved, it would carry out the verification, scrutiny of the beneficiaries and submit their report before the government, added the official.
It was informed that those beneficiaries already having a government employee in their house would have their orders cancelled along with those families issued with more than one order.
Under first phase of OFOJ, a total of 10,774 beneficiaries were issued appointment orders whereas in the second list 6,532 beneficiaries were facilitated with the joining order under the scheme, it was informed.
