Tarzan Subba takes charge as Gangtok Smart City CEO

Tarzan Subba has taken charge as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gangtok Smart City Development Limited (GSCDL). He formally took over the charge on June 14 from his predecessor Tshewang Gyachho, since transferred and posted as HRD special secretary.
Subba, a Sikkim Finance and Accounts Service (SFAS) officer of 2002-2003 batch was earlier posted as additional director, PGIPF division under the State Finance department when he headed the Finance and Accounts wing of Sports & Youth Affairs department where prestigious projects like Paljor Stadium, Youth Hostel and Gymnasium Hall at Namchi came up and few other projects like Bhaichung Stadium, Khel Gaon, alternative playground at Sichey (Sochaythang) and Kyongsa Playground were envisaged.  
Apart from government finance and accounting, Subba is trained in Accounting of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) at the National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM), Faridabad, Governance Management at the University of West London, London, UK, and Project Management Programme (PMP) under the aegis of Digital India.
A techno-savvy person and a gadget freak, Subba is perhaps, the first gadget reviewer and also the first self-trained RC (Radio Controlled) pilot of Sikkim. A voracious reader himself, he was also into reviewing books in local dailies. He writes regular columns in local dailies and magazines.
