SKM has maligned Sikkim’s image: SDF

GANGTOK,: The Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party has hit back at the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) for maligning Sikkim’s image by making a back door entry into the government led by a convicted person.
Claiming that Chief Minister Golay’s appointment has defamed Sikkim and Sikkimese pride, SDF spokesperson Amber Rai in a press release said the Sikkimese electorate had not given the mandate to unconstitutionally hand over the reign to a convicted and incarcerated person.
The SDF further reminded that it has secured a larger vote share in the recent elections and its president Pawan Chamling is still an adored and ideal leader for the Sikkimese. It further advised minister Sanjit Kharel to realise the fact and desist from swaggering as the SKM government would not last for long. “The mandate given by the people in the ensuing by-election will make it clear who the people like and a large number of SKM supporters are covertly supporting SDF,” said the SDF.
