Sikkim CM assures support to NEDA

GANGTOK,: Chief Minister P.S. Golay called on the Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at CM Secretariat, Guwahati today. During the official meeting, both the Chief Ministers shared various different facets of the two different States and their uniqueness in terms of the culture, traditions, demographics and also discussed their similarities with regards to unity and bond prevalent in these States. They also talked about working collectively for the progress and betterment of the two States, an IPR release from Guwahati informs.
CM Sonowal extended his congratulations to the Sikkim CM for the historic win in Sikkim and wished him many more success so that the State reaches greater heights under his leadership. He also praised the people of Sikkim for always keeping unity, peace, cleanliness in the forefront and for keeping their humility and genuineness intact for the world to see and learn. The Assam Chief Minister also enquired about the economic, social and administrative structure of the State.
CM Golay thanked Sonowal for all the praises bestowed and extended his welcome to the State while also seeking his valuable guidance and support in future to Sikkim.
Chief Minister Golay also met Himanta Biswa Sarma, a senior minister in the Sonowal led government and convener of North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), an organisation formed for all-round development of the North East which also works for better coordination among the States and Centre.
During the meeting with Sarma, Golay extended all support for better coordination of Sikkim with NEDA and other North-East States. He also assured to work selflessly with NEDA and hold full trust on Central leadership for overall development of Sikkim and the North-East states.
The Sikkim CM also hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for conceptualising NEDA which was much needed for the entire Northeastern region and to bridge relationship between the Central government and the North Eastern States. The Chief Minister also met Ganesh Kumar Limbu, MLA from Barchalla constituency in the evening today and discussed various issues related to the State and its development.
