Rashmi Prasad Alley Award for Educationist Bijay Kumar Subba

: The Sikkim Pragya Pratisthan has announced educationist and progressive litterateur Bijay Kumar Subba as the recipient for the Rashmi Prasad Alley Award 2019.
The selection committee of the Pratisthan selected the name of Subba during its meeting, a press release informs. The 57-year-old was born at Lingi Payong village in South Sikkim.
Subba has been working for the development and enrichment of the education system and literature in Sikkim. He is known as a satirist and for his satirical comments on the various ill-traditions of the society. He has received more than one dozen awards as a writer and teacher.
In recognition of his services to education and literature, the award would be presented to Subba on September 21 during a function here at Gangtok. The award consists of cash prize, memento and citation.
Chief Minister P.S. Golay would be the chief guest at the award function, the release mentions.
A booklet ‘Vidyarthi Digest’ published by the Pratisthan would also be released on the occasion.
The Sikkim Pragya Pratisthan was established in 2018 and initiated by literary figures, artistes and journalists.
