Golay submits candidature, promises to make Poklok-Kamrang a ‘model constituency’

SKM president and Chief Minister P.S. Golay on Monday submitted his nomination papers before the South Returning Officer Ragul K at Namchi for the Poklok-Kamrang constituency by-poll.
Similarly, SDF candidate Moses Rai and Yadhu Kumar Rai from Sikkim Republican Party filed their nomination papers for Poklok-Kamrang by-poll.
Speaking to media, the Chief Minister promised to the voters of Poklok-Kamrang to make their constituency as the ‘model and frontline constituency’ in the State.
“Even before my candidature was announced, I had much earlier announced that our SKM government will work more than what the previous government did in 25 years at Poklok-Kamrang. We will win the hearts of the people of Poklok-Kamrang and our government has already initiated many works here. We will make it a model and frontline constituency of the State,” said Golay.
Golay informed that he will start his campaigning after the Dasain festival ends.
Asked about the SKM-BJP alliance which has fetched criticism from the opposition parties, Golay mentioned that the SKM is already a member of NDA at the national level and a member of NEDA at the Northeastern regional level. The Centre and the State government will work together for the development of Sikkim, he said.
The SKM president was accompanied by State BJP president D.B. Chauhan while filing the nomination papers.
