Will stand strong to safeguard Sikkim’s old laws: Y.T. Lepcha

GANGTOK,: Yong Tshering Lepcha, the BJP candidate for the Gangtok Assembly constituency by-election has kick started his election campaign for the capital seat. Lepcha, accompanied by BJP and alliance partner SKM functionaries has been holding joint meetings with the voters with a focus on maximum development of the constituency and the State in general.
“This election is not just limited to politics but I dream of uplifting and development of Sikkim as a whole. The ruling SKM is with the Central party and if the coordination of the dual engines can bring in all the necessary progress and development that Gangtok and the State is looking forward to. I believe and think of making the best State wherein all the issues are resolved at the earliest,” said Lepcha.
Asserting that the BJP is also well aware of Sikkim’s special status under Article 371F of the Constitution and the old laws, Lepcha maintained that the party will not dilute them in any form but focus on preserving them in the interest of Sikkim and the Sikkimese people. “I will always stand strong in safeguarding Article 371F and the old laws in the best of my ability so that the threat the people are speculating as of date is wiped off completely,” he added.
The SKM backed BJP candidate expressed that he is well aware of the problems and issues of the capital constituency and vowed to work as a real Chowkidar for the electors. “All the problems of the constituency will be taken up and addressed with support of the State and the Central government,” said Lepcha.
