GANGTOK,: Gangtok DM Tushar G Nikhare on Tuesday called on Governor Om Prakash
Mathur at Raj Bhavan today.
During
the meeting, the Governor enquired about the progress of the Vibrant Villages
Programme, an initiative aimed at promoting the development of border villages
in India, a Raj Bhavan release informs.
The
District Magistrate provided a comprehensive update on various ongoing
activities under the programme in the Gangtok district, including the Kuzu Eco
Park at Gnathang, which has been sanctioned by the Ministry of Home Affairs and
is being executed by the Government of Sikkim.
The
Governor commended the efforts of the district administration and appreciated
the progress being made in uplifting rural and border communities.
Further,
the DM also extended a formal invitation to the Governor to grace the upcoming
“Gangtok Got Talent” event as the chief guest. The event is being organized by
the District Administrative Centre, Gangtok, in collaboration with Stars of
Hope (NGO), under the aegis of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and the Nasha Mukt
Bharat Abhiyan. The program aims to provide a vibrant platform for creative
expression and talent among the youth of the region.
The
Governor graciously accepted the invitation and conveyed his best wishes for
the successful conduct of the event. He also extended his good wishes to the
District Magistrate for his continued dedication and smooth execution of administrative
responsibilities, the Raj Bhavan release informs.
