MANGAN, (IPR): The National Level Gram Panchayat Development plan award and Nanaji Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar 2020-21 were conferred to the winners, Lum Gir Sangtok GPU and Lingdong Barfok GPU respectively, today. The programme was organised by RDD in collaboration with DAC at Zilla Panchayat Bhawan.
The programme was graced with the presence of Advisor, Power department and Area MLA (Dzongu), Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, chairperson, Women Commission, Chung Kipu Lepcha, director, PRI, RDD,. B. K. Lama, DC Mangan, A. B. Karki, ADCs, SDMs, BDOs and the awardees.
Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, in his address, congratulated and lauded the efforts of the awardees and expressed the need to continue working harder and diligently to acquire more such achievements on district level as well. He also lauded the efforts made by the DC Mangan and DAC team for their file to field initiative and urged that the people co-operate and make a unified effort to uplift the district.
Chairperson Chung Kipu Lepcha in her address talked about the achievement as a proud moment for the district. She commended the hard work and effort of the awardees even while facing challenges and hardships. She highlighted the role of panchayats in the upliftment of the society and the need for everyone to work together.
Director, PRI, RDD, B. K. Lama, in his speech, talked about the importance of systematic entry of data and urged each GPU to keep their data updated.
Mangan DC A. B. Karki also congratulated the awardees and said that they are to be felicitated for their achievements on August 15, 2022.
Earlier, the panchayat presidents of the two GPU shared their experience with everyone present and said that they will strive to achieve more.
