GANGTOK,: A high-level delegation of BJP Sikkim, led by the State unit president D.R.
Thapa, visited the Department of Commerce & Industries, Government of
Sikkim, today here, a press release informs.
The visit was
in pursuant to the recent visit of Minister of State for Labour &
Employment and MSME, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, to Sikkim, and in line with her
direction to study the implementation of MSME and allied schemes of the
Government of India in the State.
During the
interaction with the departmental officials, the delegation was apprised of the
implementation and progress of several flagship schemes of the Government of
India aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, employment generation, skill
development and rural industrialisation.
The delegation
was also briefed on the infrastructure and institutional support available
under these schemes, including common facilities, warehousing, hostels,
incubation support and other initiatives designed to strengthen the MSME
ecosystem in Sikkim.
During the
visit, it also emerged that awareness and access to many of these schemes
remain largely Gangtok-centric, with people living in rural and remote parts of
Sikkim still deprived, to a great extent, of the information and opportunities
available under these flagship programmes.
The delegation
felt that greater outreach and grassroots-level awareness are essential to
ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach every deserving citizen across
the State, said the Sikkim BJP.
Following the
visit, BJP Sikkim has resolved to undertake a State-wide awareness campaign to
ensure that the benefits of these transformative schemes reach every eligible
entrepreneur, self-help group, artisan, farmer, youth and aspiring business
owner across Sikkim.
“The party
believes that many deserving beneficiaries are still unaware of the wide range
of opportunities offered under these Central Government schemes. BJP Sikkim
will therefore reach every nook and corner of the State through awareness
programmes, workshops and public outreach initiatives so that the maximum
number of people can avail themselves of these schemes and become active
partners in Sikkim's economic growth and the vision of Viksit Bharat,” said the
State BJP.
BJP Sikkim reiterated
its commitment to serving as a bridge between the government's welfare
initiatives and the people, ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left
behind.
The party
remains committed to taking information about Central Government schemes to the
doorsteps of the people so that every eligible citizen, irrespective of
geography, can benefit from the opportunities created under the leadership of
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said the State BJP.
