Spread over approximately 28,800 square feet, the Sikkim Guest House near Bagdogra holds immense potential and can be developed into a valuable asset for the people of Sikkim. The Guest House is owned by the Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) and is presently leased to the Airports Authority of India (AAI). It is currently being utilized by personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) responsible for the security of Bagdogra Airport.
“During the inspection, we carried out a detailed review of the existing infrastructure and discussed the scope for renovation and upgradation of the facility. Our aim is to preserve and revitalize this important State asset while enhancing its functionality, appearance, and long-term value. The concerned departments have been directed to explore suitable measures for its redevelopment and future utilization so that the property can serve the people of Sikkim more effectively and contribute meaningfully to the State’s growth and development,” said the Chief Minister.
Golay also visited the SNT Rest House at the SNT Complex, Pradhan Nagar, Siliguri, to assess its present condition and explore possibilities for its renovation, modernization, and optimal utilization.
“The property holds immense potential and can be transformed into a valuable asset for the people of Sikkim. With suitable upgradation, it can serve as a spacious and well-equipped State Guest House, providing accommodation and support facilities for patients and their attendants, as well as for visitors, guests, and government officials from the State,” he said.
During the visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the existing infrastructure and discussed measures for its renovation and redevelopment to enhance its functionality, comfort, and long-term utility.
