NCST member reviews implementation of ST safeguards at Sikkim University

GANGTOK,: National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) member Dr. Asha Lakra chaired a review meeting on the implementation of constitutional safeguards, reservation policy and welfare measures for Scheduled Tribes at Sikkim University on Monday.

The review meeting was attended by the university administration, vice-chancellors, senior professors and other officers and officials.

During the meeting, Dr. Lakra and the NCST team reviewed the details furnished by the university in the prescribed format and suggested further improvements in documentation and procedures. She also interacted with all members present to take note of any issues and assured that important matters would be taken up at the appropriate level for the benefit of students and employees, informs a press release.

The commission also conducted an interaction-cum-meeting with ST employees of the university.

Sikkim University extended gratitude to Dr. Lakra and the NCST team for their visit and for providing guidance and observations for further upgradation of systems and procedures.
