State government hikes Dearness Allowance and Relief for employees & pensioners

GANGTOK, : The Sikkim government has enhanced the rate of Dearness Allowance (DA) to the State government employees and Dearness Relief to the State government pensioners drawing pay in the pre-revised basic pay structure.

As a per October 7 circular from the State Finance department, the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief have been hiked from the existing rate of 246% to 252% with effect from January 1, 2025.

Further, consequent upon revision of pay and allowances as per the decision taken by the government, Dearness Allowance to the State government employees and Dearness Relief to the State government pensioners drawing pay in the revised basic pay structure shall be enhanced from the existing 53% to 55% with effect from January 1, 2025. The decision was taken based on the recommendation of the Pay Committee and in continuation to department’s circular no. GOS/1 (32) /Bud /Fin /2001-2002 /Part 11/04 dated 21/03/2025.

The Dearness Allowance at the above rates will also be admissible to the employees appointed on contract basis and work-charged establishments drawing revised pay in the regular scales of pay of the State government, said the Finance department.

Accordingly, the rate of DA admissible to the All India Service Officers who continue to draw their pay in the pre-revised pay band / grade pay as the 6th CPC recommendation shall be enhanced from the existing 246% to 252% with effect from January 1, 2025.

Further, the Dearness Allowance of All India Service Officers drawing pay in the revised basic pay as per recommendation of the 7th Central Pay Commission shall be enhanced from existing 53% to 55% with effect from January 1, 2025.
