GANGTOK,: The Women Ophthalmology Society (WOS) of India has felicitated renowned ophthalmologist from Sikkim, Dr. Arati Diyali (DOMS, DNB Ophth., FPRS) for providing finest eye care in the State of Sikkim and neighbouring State of West Bengal and working relentlessly towards eradication of blindness at an event held at Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati on August 20, informs a press release.
After completing her schooling from Paljor Namgyal Girls Senior Secondary School, Dr. Arati did her MBBS and post-graduation from prestigious Lady Hardinge Medical College and Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi respectively. She pursued her DNB in Ophthalmology from Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, Guwahati which is one of the best eye institutes in the country. To sharpen her skill further, she did her fellowship in cataract and refractive surgery from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
She worked with Government of Sikkim from the year 2009 till 2013 and then with Lions Eye Hospital, Siliguri as a senior eye surgeon.
With her vast experience of 5,000 plus eye surgeries and her passion and devotion to work for her own people of Sikkim, Dr. Arati has established Drishyam Eye Care Centre with a mission to provide compassionate, evidence based and ethical eye care and visual rehabilitation services to all the segments of the society. Established in 2015, in the short span of time Drishyam Eye Care has conducted 23 free eye camps and has treated more than 6,500 patients successfully spreading the light of vision in every strata of the society. Today, Dr. Arati is one of the most sought after ophthalmologist in Sikkim and West Bengal, the release mentions.
