Consumer Rights Day celebrated at MG Marg

GANGTOK,: Federation of Consumer Association of Sikkim (FCAS) celebrated National Consumer Rights Day 2020 today at MG Marg here.   
Miss India Sikkim 2019 Sang Doma Tamang, who was present as the guest of honour, highlighted the importance of the day and praised organisers for organising the programme and sensitizing consumers on their rights.  She said every consumer needs to know his/her rights and use it judiciously.
Mr Sikkim Demazong 2019 Anand Lamichaney and social worker Gaurav Raj Gupta also spoke at the event.
FCAS chief coordinator Suresh K. Lama along with general secretary Rohit Pradhan appealed the masses to be conscious of their rights and take maximum benefit of the helpline numbers so that their issues are redressed by the consumer redressal forums.
The consumers can report complaints for goods and services related disputes through the helpline number or can file a complaint at district consumer dispute redressal forum, State consumer dispute redressal commission and national consumer dispute redressal commission, it was informed.  
On the occasion, journalist Nitesh Pradhan, teacher Anisha Lama and teacher Priyanka Tamang jointly received the 'Concerned Consumers Award 2020' for their role in spreading awareness on consumer rights in Sikkim.
The federation had also installed a landline phone at MG Marg today through which consumers could register their complaint for free using the consumer helpline number.
