CM offers prayers at Pahari Mata Mandir

SILIGURI,: Sikkim Chief Minister PS Golay on Wednesday offered prayers at Pahari Mata Mandir, Lichipokhari under Phansidewa block at the outskirts of Siliguri.

The Sikkim Chief Minister often visits the temple here to offer his prayers.

Speaking to media, Golay said: “I feel blessed to be a part of the puja held at Pahari Mata Mandir. I offered my sincere prayers for the welfare and prosperity of Sikkim and the Sikkimese people. I come here two to three times a year.”

Asked about the road conditions for tourists coming to visit Sikkim, the Chief Minister mentioned that there is false information on some social media pages regarding closure of roads due to landslides. There is no such thing, the roads are open and if a landslide occurs, we clear it within two-three hours, he said.

“It was only in Chungthang where the road was closed for two days due to a flash flood but in other places there are no such problems. Tourists can come to Sikkim without any hesitation and enjoy the beauty of Sikkim,” he said.
