Farm Day initiative gives focus on boosting maize cultivation in Pakyong district

GANGTOK, : In accordance with the Mission to Revive Barren Land for Cultivation, the office of the Additional District Collector for Development in Pakyong district has shared about the effective success of Episode 28 of the Friday Field/Farm Day scheme.

This initiative has significantly impacted the district, fostering agricultural development and encouraging diligent efforts to secure a prosperous future for forthcoming generations, a press release informs.

All Gram Panchayat Units (GPUs) within the district have illustrated the success of this mission, which has not only converted barren lands into productive fields but has also engaged young government employees and the youth in agricultural practices.

The team express sincere appreciation to the government for its support of our initiatives.

At this time, the primary focus is to promote maize cultivation among every household in each village throughout the district.  This initiative aims to enhance farming practices, augment agricultural output, and promote sustainable land management.

By optimising land utilisation and implementing eco-friendly methods, the aim is to effectuate a significant transformation in the agricultural landscape of the region, thereby ensuring food security and economic advantages for the farming community.
