GANGTOK, : Kunzang Choeki Bhutia, an educationist from Sikkim,
trustee of Denjong Charities, founder of Katalytic Charter Education
Foundation, additional director of PLF and Khelum Foundation is in Mumbai this
week for a series of high-level strategic meetings with Khrisha Shah Ambani.
The
visit is focused on building landmark public-private partnership collaborations
in education, women's leadership, health, and youth empowerment in Sikkim, a
press release informs.
This
dialogue represents the latest chapter in a partnership built on mutual
curiosity and a shared vision for long-term, sustainable impact. The collaboration
formally began following Khrisha’s visit to Sikkim about four months ago, an
immersive experience where Choeki introduced her to the region's ecosystem.
There,
Khrisha gained firsthand insight, sparking ideas for a deeper,
multi-generational partnership. During the visit she also met with Education
minister RajuBasnett, chief secretary R Telang and Education secretary TashiChophel,
and she loved the conversations, their concerns, and their openness to PPP
collaborations in the future, the release mentions.
The
origin of this powerful intercultural exchange traces back to a meeting in the
Indian Creative Consortium at an UNESCO forum, where the two leaders discovered
a shared commitment to building a better future for the nation. Described as a
relationship between two curious women their bond grew from a desire to learn
from each other's worlds, leading to a plan to visit each other's hometowns to
observe and understand the core systems at play.?
Choeki’s
current visit to Mumbai from June 29 to July 5 is a direct outcome of that plan
which is increasingly being recognised as a resource from Sikkim being utilised
by national organisations to identify and contribute to solving complex
problems. The agenda for the visit includes focused one-on-one sessions with
Khrisha to map out the building of wise city ecosystems for PPP collaboration
and meetings with key functionaries to explore avenues for systemic
integration.?
This
collaboration signals the beginning of a new support system born on
understanding, trust, and cooperation. The partnership is guided by principles
of holistic and integrated development and the philosophy of VasudhaivaKutumbakam (the world is one
family), aiming to create high-impact development models that bridge bio
regional strengths with national influence. This strategic effort paves the way
for future-ready initiatives with enduring social impact, fostering peace,
unity, and a new paradigm for Sikkim’s and the nation’s progress, the release
mentions.
