Banerjee reached Kurseong today evening where she was accorded a grand welcome by
both Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatnatrik Morcha (BGPM).

week-long visit.
In Kurseong, she will be attending the
wedding of her nephew Avesh Banerjee who is getting married with Deepa Chettri

already arrived at Kurseong to attend the wedding.
Speaking about the visit, BGPM president
Anit Thapa said, “In the Hills, we have made it a culture to welcome the CM as
we have to keep a good relationship with her. This will result in the
development of the Hills.”
On December 8, the Chief Minister is
scheduled to attend a government programme at the Monteviot ground in Kurseong.
She is expected to hand over various government benefits to the public during
the programme. The CM could also make some important announcements in regard to
tea garden workers.
“We have submitted a lot of proposals to

here. There is a government program on December 8 and she will distribute
different things that day along with addressing the people,” said Thapa adding
that they will make courtesy visits to the CM.
Thapa added that since TMC was an
alliance party, the 2024 polls will be decided after a discussion with the TMC.
