Special drive for enrolment of left-out voters and newly eligible electors

GANGTOK,: In pursuance of the instructions of the Election Commission of India, vide letter no. 23/2025/ERS (Vol-II) dated 01/10/2026, a Special Drive for the enrolment of left-out electors and young newly eligible electors is being undertaken in the State of Sikkim.

A press release informs that the Special Drive will be conducted at the  level of Electoral Registration Officer(ERO) wherever required, under the supervision of District Election Officers (DEOs).

During this special drive Special Camp will be conducted on 11.10.2026 (Sunday) by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in their respective Polling Station along with other field-level functionaries throughout the State, to facilitate the enrolment of eligible citizens who have not yet been included in the electoral roll and who have been left out.

“The drive will focus on facilitating the enrolment of left-out eligible electors as well as young and first-time eligible electors who have attained the age of 18 years and are eligible for enrolment but have not yet been included in the electoral roll. Such eligible electors will be assisted in submitting Form 6 for inclusion of their names in the electoral roll,” states the press release from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim.

All eligible electors are requested to take advantage of this Special Camp and come forward to ensure that their names are included in the electoral roll, thereby strengthening their participation in the democratic process, the release mentions.
