GANGTOK, (IPR): Dushyant Kumar Gautam, Governor-designate of Sikkim, arrived at Gangtok today ahead of his swearing-in ceremony scheduled for October 19 at Lok Bhavan, Gangtok.
Upon arrival, the Governor was received by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, SLA Deputy Speaker Raj Kumari Thapa, ministers, MLAs, GMC Mayor and councillors, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, political advisors to Chief Minister, advisors, chairpersons, OSDs, along with senior government officials.
The Governor-designate of Sikkim was accorded a guard of honour by Sikkim Armed Police at Burtuk Helipad upon his arrival.
Dushyant Kumar Gautam was appointed as the 21st Governor of Sikkim by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on October 12. He succeeds Om Prakash Mathur.
The Governor-designate is scheduled to be sworn in as the Governor of Sikkim on Monday.
