GEYZING, : Gyalshing district is set to roll out ‘Ayushman Bhava’ campaign in the district on September 17 with various activities planned to achieve comprehensive coverage of the health scheme across the district.
Addressing a press conference today, Gyalshing collector Yishey D. Yongda shared that the core objective of the Ayushman Bhava campaign is to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage to every village and town, breaking geographical barriers to ensure that no one is left without access to healthcare. She outlined the various facets of this nationwide health and sanitation campaign which would be be initiated through different flagship programs such as Sewa Pakhwara, Ayushman Apke Dwar, Ayushman Mela and Ayushman Sabha.
She emphasized the importance of including all eligible beneficiaries under the PM-JAY scheme through the Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0 campaign to ensure that no one is left out when generating health cards for them. She also stressed the need for the active participation of department heads, panchayat members, health workers and the public for successful implementation of the programmes under the campaign. “Synergistic approach is what we need to saturate the health schemes under the campaign,” she said.
The district collector mentioned that the campaign would include comprehensive cleanliness drives at identified locations, blood donation camps at available health facilities across Geyzing district and organ donation initiatives.
Chief medical officer Bikash Pradhan provided information about the Ayushman Bhava campaign of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which aims to provide healthcare services to every village and town in the country. He highlighted the availability of various health services and other constructive initiatives for the people. He mentioned that various programs under the campaign would include screenings, treatments, and referral facilities for patients with different ailments, along with maternal health services. There would also be screening of children, treatments, referrals and blood donation drives, Dr. Pradhan added.
The CMO further elaborated on the various programs to be initiated under Ayushman Apkey Dwar, Ayushman Sabha and Ayushman Mela. He mentioned that rural and urban civic bodies, NGOs, government departments, health workers and others would be involved in the campaign.
“Panchayats that successfully implement the health schemes will earn the prestigious title of ‘Ayushman Gram Panchayat’ or ‘Ayushman Urban Ward,’ symbolizing their dedication to equitable healthcare provision,” said Dr. Pradhan.
The Ayushman Bhava campaign was formally launched by President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday.
