district administration held a coordination meeting with Public Sector
Undertakings(PSUs) and companies operating in the district, at the conference
hall of District Administrative Centre, Gyalshing today.
Held under the chairmanship of district collector
Tenzing D. Denzongpa, the meeting was attended by ADC (HQ) Rajani Sharma, SDM
(HQ) Pulkit, Gyalshing SDM Sandesh Subba, Yuksam SDM Chandan Singh Subba,
Dentam SDM N.K. Karki, Gyalshing and Dentam revenue officers, representatives
from National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited
(NHIDCL), National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Ltd., Power Grid
Corporation of India Ltd., SHIGA Energy Pvt. Ltd. and Kundan Hydro Ltd., along
with other concerned officials.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to review
the progress of various developmental projects being implemented by PSUs and
private entities in the district. Representatives from NHIDCL, NHPC, Power
Grid, SHIGA Energy Pvt. Ltd., and Kundan Hydro Ltd. provided comprehensive
updates through detailed PowerPoint presentations, covering the current project
status, installed capacity, Early Warning Systems (EWS), annual generation
targets and achievements, manpower deployment, Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) initiatives, security arrangements, and challenges encountered during
project execution.
Following a prior visit to various project sites,
the ADC (HQ) and Gyalshing SDM sought updates on pending issues that require
resolution in the public interest and directed all concerned agencies to ensure
strict compliance with the directives issued by the district administration.
The district collector underscored the significance
of seamless coordination between the administration and executing agencies,
stressing the need to address public grievances promptly to prevent delays in
project completion. He further emphasized adherence to quality standards and
environmental regulations.
Concerns were raised regarding unauthorized
dumping, Right of Way (ROW) issues and road-cutting challenges associated with
NHIDCL’s NH-510 project. The ADC (HQ) apprised the representatives of the
relevant legal provisions and cautioned that strict enforcement measures would
be taken against non-compliance with administrative directives. Additionally,
complaints received from the public regarding project-related grievances were
presented.
The district collector issued a strict directive
to all PSUs and private companies to comply with regulatory norms and
administrative instructions. Notably, concerns were expressed over the repeated
absence of the general manager of NHIDCL from coordination meetings and the
administration has taken the matter seriously.
The meeting concluded with all stakeholders
expressing their resolve to work in close collaboration towards the overall
development of Gyalshing district.
