SDF candidates file nomination for Sikkim bypolls

GANGTOK,: The SDF candidates on Thursday filed their nominations for Soreng-Chakung and Namchi-Singhithang bypolls before their respective Returning Officers at Soreng and Namchi.

Daniel Rai submitted his nomination papers as the SDF candidate for Namchi-Singhithang while Prem Bahadur Bhandari submitted his candidature as the SDF candidate for Soreng-Chakung.

So far, only ruling SKM and opposition SDF have submitted nominations for the bye-elections taking place in these two constituencies.

Nomination process ends on October 25 followed by scrutiny of papers on October 28. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 30. Polling is scheduled on November 13.
