GANGTOK,: The Sikkim Football Association (SFA), during its annual general
meeting on Saturday, felicitated emerging football talent Royal Subba for a
successful start of his footballing journey.
Royal was
presented with a letter of appreciation, cash prize and khadas by the SFA executives.
The teen
hails from Sardon Lungzik, Maneybung Dentam and is presently the goalkeeper for
the Bengaluru FC u-13 squad. He had trained at Namchi Sports Hostel for a year
in 2022 under coach Amos Subba, a SFA release informs.
His
football talents were recognized when Van Loom, the head of Player Development
at Bengaluru FC, scouted him during trials in Namchi.
Royal
joined the BFC Residential Academy on June 16, 2023, and is a member of the u-13
squad under coach Jiwan Jayaraj. He
participated in the AIFF Youth League 2022-23, where his team reached the
finals in Odisha and finished as runners-up, the release informs.
