Sikkim State Disaster Management Authority conferred Subhas Chandra Bose Disaster Management Award

GANGTOK,: The Sikkim State Disaster Management Authority (SSDMA) has been conferred the prestigious Subhas Chandra Bose Disaster Management Award for the year 2026 in recognition of its distinguished contribution to the field of disaster management and its outstanding service to the people.

Congratulating the SSDMA on the achievement, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay stated that the honour reflects the dedication, professionalism, and tireless efforts of the entire team in strengthening disaster preparedness, response, and resilience across the State.

He noted that the award is a matter of immense pride for the people of Sikkim and a recognition of the State’s continued commitment towards effective disaster management and public service, informs a CMO press release on Thursday.

The Chief Minister also expressed appreciation to all officers, staff members, volunteers, and stakeholders associated with the Authority for their commendable contribution. He further conveyed his best wishes for the organisation’s continued success in safeguarding lives and strengthening community resilience across the State.
