Two dead in NH-10 Accident

DARJEELING, : Two residents of Gangtok died early Friday morning after the vehicle they were travelling in plunged into the Teesta River along NH-10.

The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Aman Gupta and Aniket Gupta, also 24.

According to family members, they had gone to Siliguri on Thursday to attend a relative’s wedding and were returning home when the accident occurred around 4:30 am at BadareyVir near 29th Mile. The Innova vehicle reportedly fell nearly 300 feet below the highway into the river.

Two other occupants of the vehicle sustained serious injuries. They were initially taken to the Primary Health Centre at Rambhi and are currently undergoing treatment in Siliguri.
