GANGTOK,: Rhenock Educational Society (RES) on Tuesday celebrated its 35th
foundation day at Manjusree Auditorium, Himalayan Pharmacy Institute (HPI),
Majhitar near Rangpo.
The
programme commenced with the hoisting of the flag of RES, Himalayan Pharmacy
Institute (HPI), Harkamaya College of Education (HCE) and Damber Singh College
(DSC) by the dignitaries present. The event was attended by Dr. H.P. Chhetri,
secretary-cum-director RES, Dr. Nihar Ranjan Bhuyan, principal HPI, Dr. S.K.
Pradhan, principal DSC and Dr. Rajesh Singh, principal HCE.

Basnet, additional director (T), Vigilance Police, Govt. of Sikkim, was present
as the chief guest along with Dr. Suresh Kumar Gurung, joint registrar, Sikkim
University as the guest of honour.
The
HPI principal extended a warm welcome to the guests, felicitating them with
traditional khadas. In his address,
he reflected on the institution’s journey with gratitude and optimism, urging
everyone to view challenges as opportunities for growth and to work together
for a brighter future for generations to come.
This
was followed by the garlanding of the parents of the founder-director, after
which the dignitaries released the annual magazine of RES.
Dr.
Phurpa Lhamu Chhetri, associate director RES, addressed the gathering,
highlighting the milestones and achievements of RES over the past 35 years.
The
day’s programme also featured vibrant cultural performances by students of HCE,
HPI, and DSC, including traditional dances, songs, and a showcase of Sikkim’s
rich ethnic costumes.
Towards
the end of the programme, the chief guest, guest of honour and special guests
were presented mementoes by secretary-cum-director Dr. H.P. Chhetri. The
celebration concluded with the national anthem following a vote of thanks by
the organisers, a press release informs.
