CM’s meeting with retired government employees rescheduled to Dec 27-28

GANGTOK,: SKM’s frontal organisation for retired government employees is organising a two-day meeting of the ex-government employees with Chief Minister PS Golay at Saramsa Garden near Ranipool on December 27 and 28.

Addressing a press meet here on Monday, Upper Tadong MLA GT Dhungel said the two-day meeting would see the ex-government employees sharing their problems and grievances for redressal by the Chief Minister.

Dhungel is also the vice president in-charge of the SKM’s retired government employees’ wing.

It was informed that the programme was scheduled on December 6-7 but postponed to December 27-28 since the Chief Minister would be going to Delhi.

As per the new schedule, the Chief Minister will meet the retired government employees of Soreng, Gyalshing and Namchi districts on December 27. The following day, December 28, is reserved for the retired government employees of Pakyong, Gangtok and Mangan.

Dhungel informed that the Chief Minister would be meeting the retired government workers from 9 am to 9 pm, in order to meet the maximum people. The Chief Minister could be announcing welfare schemes for the retired employees and we appeal to all retired employees to take part in the programme, he said.

The frontal organisation’s vice president Kado Tshering Bhutia informed that the retired employees who have not taken membership can get the membership card at the programme venue. Priority would be given to people coming from remote areas or those who are suffering from medical problems, he said.

We are expecting a turnout of 20,000 retired employees in the programme, said Bhutia.
