GANGTOK,: With the aim of promoting the ‘concert economy and creative
economy’, Positive Vibes Entertainment (PVE) Network, in collaboration with the
State government, is set to organise ‘Nepathya Live in Sikkim – Let’s Get Loud:
Celebrate Sikkim’ at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok, on October 31.
“Chief
Minister PS Golay’s vision is to promote the concert economy and creative
economy in Sikkim. Nepathya is a world-renowned and hugely popular band.
Bringing the Nepathya band to Sikkim will boost tourism in Sikkim. Having them
perform in Sikkim is a great opportunity. Visitors also spend on accommodation,
meals, transport, shopping and sightseeing, benefiting businesses across the
local market,” expressed MLA and chief patron Sanjit Kharel at a press meet
held at the Press Club of Sikkim on Wednesday.
The
press meet was also attended by PVE Network founding director and event head
Bikesh Kayastha, and regional representatives Nir Bahadur Chettri and Tshering
Uden Bhutia.
“PVE
Network’s ‘Let’s Get Loud Sikkim with Sajjan Raj Vaidya’, held in November
2025, attracted around 2,000 visitors from outside the State. The organisers
tentatively estimate that spending by these travellers generated over Rs 3
crore in business for local markets,” said Kharel.
He
highlighted the opportunities this could create for small vendors, tea stalls,
neighbourhood shops, larger restaurants, hotels, homestays, taxi drivers and
transport operators, alongside technicians and creative professionals.
According
to current updates, tickets for the Nepathya concert have already been booked
from across 15 states of India. The organisers are expecting a footfall of
8,000–9,000 visitors from outside the State.
With
the vision of boosting Sikkim’s economy, the event will also inspire local
youths interested in music and band performances. They will get to learn a lot,
and we hope to see Sikkim’s young talent perform internationally in the future,
said the chief patron.
The
minimum ticket price for a Nepathya concert worldwide is usually Rs 3,000.
However, out of love for Sikkim, tickets are available for Rs 1,000.
There
are no separate ticket tiers. The seating arrangement for the VIP gallery might
differ slightly due to protocol and security requirements, but ticket prices
remain uniform for all.
“Ever
since I took up this responsibility as chief patron, I have been receiving
numerous calls, especially from Gen Z youth and college students. They are
asking how to get tickets. We are working diligently to accommodate everyone.
Looking at current booking trends, tickets are already booked across 15 States.
Now we need to ensure tickets remain available for Sikkim residents too. We are
currently working out distribution channels to make them accessible where
needed. The ground capacity is around 25,000 at Paljor Stadium, so we must
manage the seating carefully,” said the MLA.
“While
accommodating everyone might be challenging, the State government is preparing
and conducting recce exercises. We are assessing local hotel capacities and
mapping available accommodations across Gangtok. This initiative will help us
gauge Sikkim’s overall hosting capacity for major events in the future,” he
added.
So
far, around 4,200 tickets have been sold. About 90 per cent of these were
purchased by people from outside Sikkim. Tickets for local residents will be
made available in a few days.
He
also noted that the wider Dashain–Tihar festive season gives people taking time
away from work an opportunity to combine the concert with a visit to Sikkim
alongside family and friends.
Kharel
expressed the view that a successful event at Paljor Stadium could build
confidence among organisers within Sikkim, across India and internationally to
consider the State for future concerts and cultural events. PVE Network is
leading the planning and execution, with the chief patron supporting
coordination and stakeholder engagement.
