Geyzing district hospital introduces 3D dental printing ecosystem, new health and wellness centre inaugurated

GEYZING, : The Geyzing district hospital has been upgraded with a state-of-the-art dental 3D printing ecosystem, offering advanced medical services for dental patients in the district.

The new facility, inaugurated today by area MLA Loknath Sharma, made possible through funds allocated by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER). District collector Yishey D. Yongda, chief medical officer Bikash Pradhan, hospital staff and other officials were present during the inauguration.

MLA Sharma congratulated the hospital staff for the new facility and stated that dental patients in the district will no longer need to travel to hospitals outside the district or to Siliguri for advanced dental care.

He informed that the facility was established at the Gyezing hospital to meet the needs of the people, ensuring access to modern dental treatments within the district itself. Sharma also lauded DC Yongda for her commitment and contributions in availing the much-needed facility.

“The SKM government has given utmost priority to health sector of the State and the State government has so far been able to ensure availability of all medical facility in all district hospitals of the State. Also, Geyzing the district hospital has witnessed a significant transformation under SKM government,” Sharma said.

In addition to the dental facility, the MLA also inaugurated a newly established Urban Health and Wellness Centre at Middle Geyzing under Geyzing Omchung Gram Panchayat Unit. Funded by the 15th Finance Commission under the Health and Family Welfare department, the centre aims to provide essential healthcare services to the local population.

CMO Bikash Pradhan shared that the wellness centre will offer basic medical treatments for a variety of health issues, while Zilla Panchayat member Sagar Sharma informed that a medical officer and staff will be appointed to ensure the facility is fully operational.

MLA Sharma termed the wellness centre as a valuable healthcare asset for the residents of Geyzing Omchung GPU. It will cater to the basic medical needs of the local community and contribute to improved healthcare access in the region, he added.
