Namchi zilla adhyaksha’s outreach campaign reach Nandu Gaon

GANGTOK,: The grassroots outreach initiative of Namchi zilla adhyaksha Anjeeta Rajalim in the eight blocks under Namchi district saw its second coordination meeting at Nandu Gaon block administrative centre on Tuesday.

Present in the meeting were Rajalim, zilla upadhyaksha Bikash Tamang, zilla panchayats of Namchi district, and panchayat president, members and zilla panchayats of the three GPUs under Nandu Gaon block along with the concerned BAC officials.

A press release informs that during the meeting, the local panchayats shared that concerned officials do not attend the Gram Sabhas in their GPU but send their junior employees.

On this, Rajalim assured that she would take up the matter with the concerned BDO if such acts are repeated in future and do the necessary action from her end.

The local panchayats have appreciated the initiative wherein the zilla adhyaksha and upadhyaksha themselves visit the blocks to understand the local problems.

During the programme, the panchayats were also informed about the upcoming State-level Panchayat Sammelan happening in Gangtok from October 6 to 8, the release mentions.
