GANGTOK, : Girish And The Chronicles (GATC), the greatest rock export from Sikkim,
continues to break new ground for Indian Rock - this time on America’s Got
Talent.
In
a surprise that has set social media buzzing, GATC frontman Girish Pradhan was
spotted in the Season 20 promotional reel of America’s Got Talent on their
official social media handles. While the details are still under wraps, speculation
is flying high that this appearance could be connected to the band’s recent
Hollywood visit, hinted at in a snapshot they posted in front of the iconic
Hollywood sign earlier this March.
If
the rumours are true, GATC could be making history as the first Indian rock
band to feature on the global phenomenon that is America’s Got Talent — a show
known for catapulting raw, diverse talent to worldwide fame.
The
20th season of America’s Got Talent is shaping up to be a blockbuster,
celebrating two decades of discovery and entertainment. The judging panel
includes Simon Cowell, the ever-critical and always iconic executive producer;
Mel B, Spice Girls member and singer; Howie Mandel, comedian and industry
veteran; and Sofía Vergara, actress and crowd favorite. Host Terry Crews
returns with his trademark energy to keep the vibe electric.
The
timing couldn’t be more intriguing. Just last week, GATC made headlines after
opening for rock legends Guns N’ Roses at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai on
May 17th, marking what fans and critics are calling one of the biggest live
rock performances in India this year.
Adding
fuel to the fire, a viral Instagram reel titled “This is a soundcheck for Guns
N’ Roses”, posted by Girish himself the day after the concert, has blown up
worldwide - amassing 18 million views on Instagram, 10 million on Facebook, and
spreading rapidly on TikTok and other platforms.
The
buzz around the Sikkim-originated band is real, and their crossover into the
international spotlight seems inevitable. As fans await official confirmation
from either the band or the show’s producers, the possibility of seeing an
Indian rock band on one of the biggest stages in the world has fans from both
sides of the globe electrified.
Whether
it’s a guest performance, a special feature, or an official competition entry,
GATC’s presence on America’s Got Talent Season 20 could signal a new era for
Indian rock music on the global stage.
Stay
tuned - this could be the start of something legendary.
